高爾夫球趣聞 (1)

許文正校友簡介：

1959年嘉中畢業，1963年台大外文系畢業。曾在母校嘉中任教，數年後考入JAL (日本航空公司) 台北分公司任職，台、日斷交後，改行從商，經營金屬買賣。後赴巴西發展從事拆船及舊鋼鐵生意，30多年來事業有成，已成巴西台灣僑領。

許校友在1960年代曾是台大校門口對面，『紅綿撞球場』的常客，故snooker (撞球) 技術高超。出國後改打高爾夫球，技術上乘，每三、五年返台探親，常與同窗好友球叙。

許校友頭腦敏，為人風趣，此次應『嘉中校友全聯會』之邀，將不定期連續發表，打高爾夫球之經驗與趣譚，與全體校友分享並引起共鳴。

*-golf is like a love affair: if you don't take it seriously, it's no fun; if you do take it seriously, it breaks your heart.

打高爾夫球像經營愛情，不認真了，不好玩；太認真了，又傷你的心。

*The reason the pro tells you to keep your head down is so you can't see him laughing. 為何老手叫你打球時低頭，是為你看不到他在笑。

*Golf is a game of do's and don'ts. Don't read the rules; they interfere with your judgment.

高爾夫球是該做有不該做的遊戲。別去讀打球的規則，因為規則會妨碍你的判斷。

*Don't play a bad lie; it might injure your club.

不要在不良的地形地物下揮桿，因為會傷了你的球桿。

*Don't ever give up on a lost ball. If a lost ball is not found within twenty to twenty-five minutes, it is good idea to signal the group behind you to come up and assist.

別放棄一個找不到的球。如果球在20-25分鐘找不到的話，向後面的一組人示意，請他們來上來幫你找是不錯的主意。

(According to rules, five minutes are allowed to find the lost ball.) 依球規，允准五分鐘找球
