“New Delhi’s new palace. It’s yours. We’re merely looking after it.”
(The Leela Palace –New Delhi) –印度新德里The Leela Palace皇宮

【New Delhi is the name of a place; new palace, a newly built one, owned
by our guests. We provide to our guests a feeling that they are coming home
when staying at this palace hotel. The
hotel owners are nothing but janitors or housekeepers. 】
The ad reads as if the advertisers are rather modest. It
actually corresponds to the Chinese hospitality,。(Guests are just
like coming home when they lodge in here.)
新德里是皇宮的名稱。新皇宮-一所新蓋的宮典，為貴賓們所擁有。客人住宿本飯店，我們提供他們 『賓至如歸』的感覺。本飯店所有權人
不過是管理員或管家而已。這則廣告讀起來彷彿廣告者有點謙虛。它真正符合中國人的好客『賓至如歸』。

“Experience the age-old dilemma of Indian
royalty: which palace to spend summer in.”
『經歷面對印度那麼多，歷史悠久的王宮，難免進退兩難：到底該選住那一座王宮避暑? 』

【Since there are many old palace-style
hotels to choose from, guests are confronted with the problem of choosing. If
you choose A, you will regret not choosing B, and vice versa. They are boasting
of numerous, luxurious palace hotels in India.】
因為有許多老宮殿式的飯店可供選擇，因此客人面臨到選擇的難題。選Ａ就後悔未選Ｂ，反之亦然。他們誇口在印度就有數不清的豪華宮殿式飯店。

“The coastline has the beauty of the
Baltic shore: spare, dignified, pure.” (Blue Hill, Maine) 『海岸線具有波羅的海之美：悠閒、尊嚴、純潔。』(美國緬因州，綠色山區-飯店)

【A hotel with
ocean-frontage in Maine boasts that it faces and enjoys ocean views, which are
as something extra, with dignity, and
purity. The primary stress is that you don’t have to go to Europe to enjoy such
beauty.】
在緬因州面對海洋的飯店，誇口說它面對與欣賞到海景，這些景觀是額外的、有尊嚴與純潔的。主要强調不必去歐洲即可欣賞這些美景。

“The Shock of the New Boston: with
big-deal restaurants, world-class museum and a flourishing design scenes, the
City on Hill is ready to shine again.” (波士頓)
『新波士頓的震憾：有豪華大餐廳，世界級的博物館和燦爛的設計風景，這家飯店-山頂之城準備再度閃耀。』

【There are three things to shock tourists:
nice places to dine- restaurants; top museums; and scenes of prosperity. The
hotel, City on Hill is recovering.】
『有三件事震憾遊客：用餐的好去處-大餐廳；頂級博物館；和繁榮的美景。山頂之城這家飯店正在復甦』
Unlike the above two ads, the following one’s
emphasis is on its interior as well as its surroundings. The interior of the
hotel is immersed in art, let alone its cultural surroundings:
不若上面兩家的廣告，下列這家强調其內部裝璜與周圍環境。飯店內部浸淫於藝術氣芬，更遑論其周圍之文化氣息。
10.“Artistic in
every detail. It is surrounded by Manhattan’s culture.”
