Romantic texting (浪漫的簡訊)

 

An elderly couple had just learned how to send text messages on their cell phones.

一對老夫婦剛學會用手機傳簡訊。

The wife was a romantic type and the husband was more of a no-nonsense guy.

老太太屬於浪漫型，先生則是不解風情 (正經八百)。

One afternoon the wife went out to meet a friend for coffee.

有天下午太太外出約朋友喝咖啡。

She decided to send her husband a romantic text message and she wrote:

她決定給先生發一通浪漫的簡訊，她這麽寫著：

"If you are sleeping, send me your dreams.

如果你在睡覺，送來你的美夢。

If you are laughing, send me your smile.

如果你在笑，送來你的微笑。

If you are eating, send me a bite.

如果你在吃東西，送來一口你吃的東西。(a bite 一小口)

If you are drinking, send me a sip.

如果你在喝酒，也讓我嚐一小口。(sip啜飲)

If you are crying, send me your tears.

如果你在哭泣，送來你的淚水。

I love you."

我愛你

The husband texted back to her: "I'm on the toilet.

先生的回復是這樣：『我正蹲在茅房內 (洗手間)』

Please advise." 請賜知

(What shall I send? ) 『妳要我送什麼? 』

註：advise不作勸告解，而作告知。Please be advised that.. 正式英文中表示『敬啓者…』
