(哲理-94)【福澤】

問祖宗之澤，吾享者是，當念積累之難。

問子孫之福，吾貽者是，要思傾覆之易。

                             

註：祖先留下的恩澤，是我們正在享用的。我們必須思量他們累積的困難。子孫所正享用的是，我們留給他們的福氣，他們必須慎思用盡這些福氣的容易。   

〈英譯〉：

When asked, to where the inherited wealth from our ancestors goes, we reply it is what we are enjoying now. We must think about the difficulty with which our ancestors accumulated it.

When asked, from where the fortune our descendants are enjoying comes, we reply it is from what we hand down to them. They must think about how easily the inheritance will be spent.

〈日譯〉：

私たちの先祖から受け継がれた富がどこへ行くのかと尋ねられたとき、私たちはそれが私たちが今楽しんでいるものであると答えます。私たちの祖先が富を蓄積してきた難しさについて考えなければなりません。

私たちの子孫が楽しんでいる幸運がどこから来るのかと尋ねられたとき、私たちはそれを私たちが彼らに伝えたものからであると答えます。彼らは継承がどれほど簡単に使われるかについて考えなければなりません。
